Born in a musical family, WenFei Zhu, a well-vested viola soloist, carries the utmost passion to explore the spirit of classic music. As a youngster, she set footprint onto the finest stages around the globe, including the Wiener Musikverein, the Sydney Opera House and the Chinese National Centre for the Performing Arts. She gained recognition in China as one of the most promising violin and viola players with top awards from the 2006 international violin concert competition and the 3rd international youth symphony orchestra competition. In 2016, she was invited to perform at the prestigious John K. Kennedy Center for the Performing Art where she was acclaimed by celebrity conductors and performers.
WenFei Zhu received a bachelor degree in 2014 from the top-ranking Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Afterwards, she enrolled in the graduate program of San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she completed two years of studies on classical music performance mentored and PSD by famed violaists Jonathan Vinocour, the principle viola of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and Jay Liu, the deputy principle viola of SFSO. During school, she was the recipient of the prestigious Academic Award which was granted to scholar each year as a recognition of the outstanding musical achievement she/he made over the past year.
WenFei Zhu serves as a teaching assistant to musical classes in Santa Clara University. She is gifted in mentoring and has gained extensive teaching experience. She is always exhilarated to meet with music enthusiasts and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to their growth. Over the years, she has devoted sheer enthusiasm to innovative teaching methods as she believed that “everyone is unique and deserves a customized inspiration for their talent”.
