For students who are ages 3 to 8, we recommend the Suzuki Method. The Suzuki method was developed by the Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki. In this method the basic principles of language acquisition are applied to music. Students learn to play by ear and by imitating the teacher. When practicing at home, the student is helped by their parent who attends and observes the lessons. Students also are given recordings of the songs they are learning to help the music sink in. To help make their musical education social, student's private lessons are supplemented with group classes, ensemble, and music theory classes. CCM offers Suzuki guitar, piano, and violin lessons.
