September 2018 Student of the Month

Congratulations to the California Conservatory of Music’s September 2018 student of the month, Jacqueline Lutz. Jacqueline has been working hard preparing for the upcoming CCM student recitals and sounds great. She gives excellent advice below to new students just starting and has a dog named Sargent Slobber!! Q: What is your name?
A: Jacqueline Lutz

Q: How old are you?
A: 6 years old

Q: Who is your teacher?
A: Alan

Q: What advice would you give to a guitar student just starting out?
A: It may seem hard at first with your fingers and learning to play, but don’t give up and keep practicing.

Q: What piece are you looking forward to playing someday?
A: “Are you sleeping brother John”

Q: What is your favorite thing about playing the guitar?
A: I like the sound the strings make

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: chicken nuggets

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: yes, a bulldog named Sargent Slobber

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: A vetrenairy or a rock star!

Parent Spotlight - Travis & Veronica Lutz

Q: Regarding the guitar, what are you most proud of your child accomplishing?
A: The focus she demonstrates during home practice. We love that Jackie is retaining what she is learning and eager to continue each week.

Q: What advice would you give a new parent starting in the program?
A: Be involved in the whole process and help with corrections during home practice with positive feedback and encouragement. Listen to music with your child and talk about how their instruments sounds.

Q: Why did you decide to give your child a musical upbringing?
A: Music is a universal language that brings people together.
