Winner of the 2008 Wesleyan University Concerto Competition and 2011 San Francisco Conservatory of Music Guitar/Harp Concerto Competition, Matthew Holmes-Linder has concertized all over the United States, Europe, and Brazil, including performances at Washington DC's Kennedy Center, San Francisco's Herbst Theater, and Manaus, Brazil’s Teatro Amazonas.
As a founding member of Mobius Trio, Matt has helped commission nearly three dozen new works for guitar trio and performed them all over the world.
As an educator, Matt has given master classes and workshops at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule, Western Washington University, University of California Riverside, and many others. Matt’s private students have won national awards, including Gold Medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Matt holds an M.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (where he studied privately with Sergio Assad), a B.A. from Wesleyan University, and studied privately with Antigoni Goni while a student at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. He lives in San Francisco, where he performs solo and with Mobius Trio.
