QUALIFICATIONS

  • Available to teach during the weekdays in the afternoon/evening or on weekends.
  • You have a car and live in the Bay Area.
  • You have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in music.
  • Experience working with kids and a desire to spread music to all ages and levels!

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Teaching weekly lessons at least 4 days a week to a student body that consists of a wide age range and ability.
  • Develop a curriculum that is unique to the California Conservatory
  • Responsible for teaching instrumental techniques and music theory
  • Preparing students for auditions and performances
  • Preparing students for examinations and certifications including the Royal Conservatory of Music Certification and the Music Teachers’ Association of California Certificate of Merit
  • Teaching students music through the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) methods and the Suzuki Method for children under the age of eight
  • Violin teachers will also conduct group classes in addition to student’s weekly private lessons

Students are given performance and ensemble opportunities here at the school and in the community. Customer Service

(Customer service, office management and operations)

The California Conservatory of Music is the Bay Area’s leading music school. We currently have locations in Sunnyvale and Redwood City and are searching for a full-time office manager to work with the directors of the school, the office managers, and our other staff.

The ideal candidate is a clear and effective communicator who feels comfortable talking with kids and parents, has good excel skills, and is an independent worker.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must live in the Bay Area and be able to commute to Redwood City or Sunnyvale.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • A strong work ethic
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with MailChimp, Google Drive or Excel, and Google Calendar.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Answering Phones
  • Registering Clients
  • Scheduling Clients
  • Selling a small amount of retail
  • Minimal office cleaning (taking out trash, vacuum)
