Violin and Piano Faculty

Helena Gelfor

Helena Gelfor has over 50 years experience playing violin, having studied at Mussorgsky School of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia. 

She has been teaching for over 10 years here in the Bay Area, and is proud to have contributed members to the San Jose Youth Symphony and other youth orchestras. 

She enjoys working with students of all ages; her lessons provide a balance of fun and focus, teaching life-long skills - sight reading, ear training, and music theory. In addition to the classical approach, she offers introduction to fiddling styles and beginner and intermediate level piano lessons.

Helena's recent work includes playing with local orchestras such as the Nova Vista Symphony, South Bay Philharmonic, Winchester Symphony, Saratoga Symphony, and other local ensembles.
